Disney On A Diet

how to eat healthy at disney from weight loss center kansas city

Does the thought of trying to navigate a trip to Disneyworld while on a diet send you into a panic? Does the thought of white knuckling your way through food choices at the happiest place on earth seem like the biggest nightmare you can imagine?

Believe it or not, Disney on a diet can be done. The first rule of dieting at Disney is to follow a Calories Up approach to weight loss. What does this mean? It means that you diet on a reasonable amount of calories (somewhere between 1450 and 1800 calories a day). How, you might ask, could I possibly lose weight eating this much food? Believe it or not we diet ALL of our clients in this calorie range (or higher) and they lose weight very easily. How we do this is by making sure our clients are eating in a healthy calorie range (1800 to 2300 calories) for most of the year and then put them in diet cycles (a calorie deficit) for short periods of time for weight loss. It works like a charm! You should try it.

One of the biggest benefits of this Calories Up lifestyle is that when you go to Disneyworld —whether you are on a diet or not— you can do so without stress and worry about how you are going to get by on 1200 calories a day. And even if you do indulge or go off your diet just a bit, you likely won’t gain much weight.

Our very own Couture Fitness Coach Lauren has spent the week at Disneyworld with her family while in a cutting/dieting phase. She took some protein along (greek yogurts, protein shakes, and protein bars) and grabbed lunch and dinner out and stayed well within her dieting macros. Our prediction is that given the 18,000+ steps she is walking each day, she will continue to lose weight this week!
